Because Nigeria was invaded by many European countries with different languages Nigerian Pidgin was commonly spoken among the multilingual populations of the big cities. Today the language has more speakers than any other language in the country.
Hawai‘i Pidgin spoken on the playgrounds and in neighborhood conversations. It can also be heard on a few radio programs and in some advertising.
Historically, in Hawaii thousands of laborers were brought from China, Portugal, Japan, Korea, Puerto Rico, Russia, Spain, the Philippines and other countries. a common language was developed on the plantations. This was the beninning of Pidgin Hawaiian.
