History
The Vietnam people came from a Dragon and a Fairy. In the Vietnam culture dragons are gods and fairies do not have wings. When no people were living on the land, the Dragon Lord of Lac arose from the sea. He then defeated three giant land monsters to make the land livable. Soon after, he met Au Co, a Fairy princess. Dragon Lord of Lac and Au Co fell in love with each other and had one hundred eggs together. the eggs hatched one hundred children. But one day, Dragon Lord of Lac and Au Co decided that they could not be together anymore. So the Dragon Lord and the Fairy split the children up. The Dragon Lord brought fifty children down into the sea with him and the Fairy stayed with the other fifty children up on land. The ones that stayed on the land with their mother, the Fairy, become the ancestors of all Vietnamese people. 🙂 There are now 96.46 million people who originated from the Dragon and the Fairy. -V

Nike manufactures over half of their shoes in Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh City is a large city which has a lot of factories. Ho Chi Minh City is named after the man Ho Chi Minh who brought north and south Vietnam together as one nation. Vice president Kamala Harris visited Vietnam in August. The cost of shipping a container from Vietnam to San Francisco has increased from $4,000 to $20,000. Factories are closing in Ho Chi Minh City because of sickness.
The United States fought the Vietnam war in the 1960’s and early 1970’s. Ho Chi Minh City was once called Saigon.
